Кабардинская порода лошадей – уникальное живое наследие многих поколений коневодов! Впечатляющий результат целенаправленной народной селекции – кабардинские лошади столетиями были и по сей день остаются объектом неподдельного восхищения, а сейчас и тревоги за их дальнейшую судьбу.

Сохранить и приумножить лучшие качества кабардинских лошадей, в том числе с помощью новейших научных технологий – вот та сверхзадача, которая стоит перед современными поколениями коневодов и ученых.

Международный проект стал органическим продолжением большой и важной работы, которая в последние годы возобновлена Минсельхозом КБР, ВНИИ коневодства и его Нальчикским опорным пунктом по ведению централизованного племенного учета по породе, изданию государственных племенных книг и т.п.

В кратком иллюстрированном научном отчете представлены важнейшие результаты масштабного комплексного исследования генетического потенциала кабардинской породы лошадей, проведенного ведущими отечественными и зарубежными учеными и специалистами.

Научная команда выражает искреннюю признательность многим настоящим ценителям кабардинских лошадей (руководителям и сотрудникам научно-образовательных учреждений России и Германии, коневладельцам, спортсменам, журналистам, простым любителям лошадей и др.), которые по долгу службы или просто по велению души были вовлечены в работу над проектом.

Уверены, что полученные в его рамках важные фундаментальные и прикладные результаты послужат мощной основой для более глубокого понимания и совершенствования методов селекционной работы с кабардинской породой лошадей.

The Kabardian horse breed is a unique living heritage of multiple generations of horse breeders! The impressive result of the targeted traditional selection is that Kabardian horses have been for centuries and still yet are the matter of genuine admiration, however there exists a certain concern for their future today.

To preserve and improve the best qualities of Kabardian horses, including by means of the latest scientific technologies, is namely the supertask facing modern generations of horse breeders and scholars.

This International project became the natural continuation of extensive and important work that has been resumed in recent years by the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, All Russian Research institute of horsebreeding as well as its stronghold in Nalchik on maintaining centralized pedigree records for the breed, publishing State Stud books, and so on.

The most important results of a large-scale comprehensive study of the genetic potential of the Kabardian horse breed conducted by the leading Russian and foreign scientists and specialists are gathered in this illustrated scientific report in brief.

The scientific team expresses their sincere gratitude to many true connoisseurs of Kabardian horses (managers and employees of scientific and educational institutions in both Russia and Germany, horse owners, sportsmen, journalists, ordinary horse lovers, and others), who were involved in to the work on the project due to their duty or simply by the dictates of their soul.

We are confident that the important fundamental and applied results obtained within this project will serve as a powerful basis for the deeper understanding and improvement of methods of selection work with the Kabardian horse breed.
